About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. This is a part-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow established pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing caring service.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer specific medical questions to the Pharmacist on duty.
- Complete Key Learning Experiences and training activities to build clinical and technical aptitude.
- Maintain pharmacy safety and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Proficiency in using math to solve problems, such as calculating total tablets to dispense.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.

- Location: New Port Richey, Florida.
- Pay range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time with required availability for nights and weekends.
