About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience with pharmacy operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will assist the pharmacy team in ensuring that operations run smoothly and that patients receive safe, accurate, and timely care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly.
- Follow standard operating procedures at each workstation to support pharmacists and technicians.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching to pharmacy team members and maintain self-awareness.
- Manage inventory activities like putting away deliveries and completing cycle counts.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance, with availability to work nights and weekends.
- Strong attention and focus to perform tasks accurately over extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain mobile for extended periods.
