About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers pharmacy operations, store workflows, and district leadership activities. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while supporting our pharmacy team in delivering safe and accurate care to patients.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing compassionate care.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and collect medical history under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
- Deliver additional health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law and supported by required training.
- Complete inventory tasks, including cycle counts and returns, as directed by pharmacy leadership.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance, with availability to work nights and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, and lift up to 20 lbs.
