About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school studies to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This program focuses on Key Learning Experiences to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will gain an overview of store, district, and regional operations while assisting the pharmacy team in providing patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team with prescription fulfillment at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain pharmacy operations by following company SOPs and best practices.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify prescriptions with prescribers.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive team environment while providing patient service.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or being in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, mathematical reasoning, and problem resolution.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 20 lbs.
