About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides hands-on experience in store, district, and regional operations under the direction of a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately and safely.
- Operate pharmacy workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service and address patient needs.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Handle telephonic prescriptions and coordinate with prescribers to clarify or change prescriptions.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory tasks such as cycle counts and returns-to-stocks.
- Deliver health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted.
- Educate patients on vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
- 1+ years of experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Flexibility to work at your home store and other locations within the market.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Cayce, South Carolina.
- This is a part-time, on-site role.
- Pay range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
