About the role#
This Pharmacy Intern position offers a chance to apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on developing your skills in preparation for a future Pharmacist position while supporting the pharmacy team in daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on key learning experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Educate patients about health services and manage interactions with empathy.
- Support immunizations and obtain the necessary licensure to administer them.
- Maintain inventory, perform cycle counts, and process returns.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Current intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail when confirming prescription information and label accuracy.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
