About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship where you will gain hands-on experience within our Actuarial organization. You will work on projects that directly contribute to our business goals while building your professional network. This program provides exposure to senior leaders and includes dedicated time for professional development workshops and community service. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Lead or contribute to projects across business units like Commercial Business, Government Businesses, and Medical Economics.
- Support financial planning, forecasting, and reserving processes.
- Monitor and forecast medical cost trends.
- Assist with regulatory filings.
- Participate in new product development and pricing activities.
- Engage in mentorship, networking, and professional development sessions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an anticipated graduation date between September 2027 and August 2030.
- A major, minor, or concentration in a relevant field such as Actuarial Science, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Risk Management, or Statistics.
- A clear interest in pursuing an actuarial career.
- Willingness to relocate if required.
- Note that work visa sponsorship is not available for this role, including CPT, OPT, and F-1 visa programs.
Location & details#
- Location: Hartford, Connecticut.
- Modality: This is a hybrid position. You will work from our Hartford office 3 days per week, typically Tuesday through Thursday, with the remaining 2 days worked remotely.
- Term: May 26, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
- Compensation: $26.50 per hour at 40 hours per week.
- Additional: Intern housing is provided.
