About the role#
The Talent Acquisition Intern supports our recruitment team in attracting and hiring talent across the organization. You will gain hands-on experience in full-cycle recruiting, employer branding, and workforce planning. This role provides exposure to strategic talent acquisition initiatives while you develop core human resources skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist recruiters with sourcing and screening candidates for internship, entry-level, and experienced professional roles.
- Review resumes and support candidate qualification assessments.
- Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Maintain applicant tracking system records and ensure data accuracy.
- Support career fairs, campus recruiting events, and employer branding initiatives.
- Participate in workforce planning and talent pipeline development.
- Research recruiting trends, competitor hiring practices, and talent market insights.
- Help with internship program activities, onboarding events, and candidate experience initiatives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recruiting metrics for leadership review.
- Collaborate with HR, hiring managers, and business partners on talent acquisition projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
- Interest in recruiting, talent acquisition, human resources, or organizational development.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Previous internship, campus leadership, customer service, or administrative experience is a plus.
- Experience using LinkedIn, Handshake, or other recruiting platforms is preferred.
- Interest in workforce strategy, employer branding, and talent analytics.

- This is an on-site position located in Michigan.
- Candidates must be within a commutable distance from a Consumers Energy headquarters.
- This is a paid internship.
- This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
