About the role#
The Customer Experience & Growth internship program supports our operational goals and strategic initiatives. You will work alongside subject matter experts to tackle business issues and provide data-driven insights. This role exposes you to the challenges and opportunities within the energy industry while helping you build core problem-solving skills similar to a strategy consultant.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the delivery of operational strategic initiatives focused on performance metrics, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Research market trends, benchmarking, and process improvement techniques.
- Analyze the strategic, operating, and financial impacts of business and regulatory proposals.
- Manage the development of executive-level presentations.
- Explore disruptive forces in the utility industry and develop strategies to aid senior leadership in decision-making.
- Perform financial, statistical, and scenario modeling.
- Interview subject matter experts, customers, and industry professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor or master's degree program in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Marketing, Communications, or Political Science.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Junior or Senior class standing is preferred.
- Ability to identify issues, structure thinking, and perform analysis.
- Experience developing plans that move from recommendations to implementation.
- Ability to work effectively in a small, multi-disciplinary team.
- Background in business, energy, project management, or finance is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship located in Michigan. Candidates must be within a commutable distance or willing to find local accommodations.
- Terms available include Summer 2027 and Winter 2027.
