About the role#
As a Regulatory Coordinator Intern, you will support the regulatory team in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across operations in the Gulf Coast, Rockies, and Permian assets. This role provides hands-on exposure to permitting workflows, regulatory reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with internal departments including Land, Operations, Legal, and HSE. You will work under the guidance of a mentor and a buddy to develop your technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist with well permitting and compliance documentation and tracking.
- Support the preparation and submission of environmental surface permits.
- Maintain and update regulatory metrics and dashboards for internal reporting.
- Conduct regulatory research and summarize rule changes or agency updates.
- Collaborate with team members to prepare materials for agency engagement and audits.
- Shadow Regulatory Coordinators to gain insight into pipeline compliance and enforcement implementation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Political Science, Business Administration, or Economics.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of ten continuous weeks for the internship.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
