About the role#
Geosciences Interns work with mentors and professional teams to interpret subsurface data for hydrocarbon exploration and development projects. You will contribute to basin studies, exploration plays, and field development by making recommendations for future activities. Interns engage with other professionals and fellow interns on various projects to gain exposure to industry operations. This internship lasts between 10 and 12 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Interpret subsurface geoscience and related data.
- Perform 3D seismic interpretation of fault juxtaposition to predict trap geometry and size.
- Conduct detailed 3D seismic interpretation of known fields to select prospective drilling locations.
- Develop prospect generation and well proposals.
- Perform unconventional facies and rock type modeling for hydraulic fracturing analysis.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree or higher in Geology, Geophysics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Current standing as a graduate student.
- Expected graduation date of Fall 2027 or later.
- Ability to start the internship in mid-to-late May 2027.
- Availability for a minimum of 10 continuous weeks.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without company sponsorship.
