About the role#
The Commerce Trust intern will work across several departments, including Financial Planning, Institutional, Private Client, Private Banking, Portfolio Management, Business Development, and the Foundation. You will complete short rotations through each area to gain a broad understanding of the business. This is a full-time, paid summer internship running for 11 weeks from May 18, 2027, to July 30, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through various departments to shadow team members and participate in internal meetings.
- Assist with daily requests and small projects as needed.
- Attend client meetings when appropriate.
- Manage specific projects such as drip campaign systems, financial planning research, account reviews, and trust document filing.
- Support general operations by preparing meeting presentations, conducting prospect research, assisting with mass mailings, and helping with events.
- Perform research, write up findings, and present reports to the team.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma and current progression toward a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- An inquisitive, agile, and collaborative approach to work.
- Ability to remain adaptable and resilient.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Kansas City, Missouri, at 1000 Walnut Street.
- The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- The hourly pay rate for this position is $20.00.
