About the role#
The External Affairs Intern will work directly with the External Affairs team to support communications and marketing objectives. This role offers visibility into media, Capitol Hill, Administration, and industry relationships. You will assist in building plans, setting goals, and executing strategies to communicate with stakeholders and advance legislative efforts.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning and organizing events from conception to completion.
- Support marketing efforts by creating promotional materials and managing social media campaigns.
- Provide on-site support during events, including setup, registration, and attendee assistance.
- Perform administrative tasks related to event planning, such as maintaining databases and managing RSVP lists.
- Assist with post-event activities, including gathering feedback and compiling reports.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a four-year university working toward a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Health, Political Science, or Economics.
- Outstanding written communication skills, including experience preparing press releases, news articles, presentations, and reports.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Comfort with technology and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- An interest in Capitol Hill, political processes, policy, or clean energy technologies is a plus.
