AI Innovation Fellow

About the role#

The AI Innovation Fellow will help accelerate the adoption of AI and emerging technologies across the federal government. This role is part of the ClearPath Conservative Leadership Program (CCLP), a leadership accelerator that places mission-driven professionals in high-impact roles. You will work at the intersection of technology and policy, helping to scope, build, and deploy AI systems that modernize federal processes. This is a hands-on, builder role requiring a high standard of work and a bias toward action.

What you'll do#

• Design and build AI technology-enabled systems to modernize and streamline federal processes.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on AI, providing technical guidance to federal officials and Administration partners.
• Lead the development, testing, and deployment of AI-driven tools to improve transparency and efficiency.
• Partner with external consultants, technologists, and private-sector firms to implement modern solutions.
• Translate the Administration’s AI vision into operational systems and executable projects.
• Apply strong project management discipline to manage milestones, deliverables, and quality standards.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, Political Science, or Environmental Engineering.
• 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in technology development, digital transformation, or project management.
• Demonstrated experience with modern technology systems, including AI tools and data platforms.
• Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end, from scoping to deployment.
• Experience building systems or processes from the ground up, particularly in complex or regulated environments.

Location & details#

• Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
• Modality: On-site, Monday through Friday.
• Term: Full-time, one-year placement with the possibility of renewal.
• Status: Paid position.
