About the role#
The Electrical Engineer Intern will join our team at the Deer Park Incinerator for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will work alongside experienced professionals to support real projects across our environmental and industrial services operations. You will participate in safety briefings, observe operational processes, and assist with project coordination to help keep our site running efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by following all safe work practices and policies.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Mechanical Integrity Program.
- Learn about corrosion mechanisms and participate in monitoring and mitigation activities.
- Gain exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, including incident investigation, management of change, and operating procedures.
- Use CAD or similar software to update and modify engineering drawings.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and learning new tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for electrical engineering at an accredited university.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a professional team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical tools.
- Knowledge of P&IDs and piping ISOs is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs, climbing ladders, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
