About the role#
Clean Harbors is seeking a Lab Chemist Intern for our Bristol, Connecticut facility. This summer internship offers hands-on experience working alongside professionals in the environmental, energy, and industrial services sectors. You will support real projects while developing practical skills in a safety-focused environment.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by following all company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Perform sample analysis using prescribed procedures.
- Calibrate and operate laboratory instrumentation.
- Maintain equipment and suggest solutions for technical problems.
- Complete all required analysis paperwork in a neat and timely manner.
- Ensure all work meets quality assurance and quality control guidelines.
- Manage supplies, maintain housekeeping, and follow best management practices.
- Handle waste generated from analytical procedures according to protocol.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a chemistry or relevant degree program at an accredited college or university.
- A solid understanding of math, chemistry, and chemical testing.
- Prior experience working in a laboratory setting.
- A strong interest in the environmental services industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a professional team.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Program dates: Start dates are May 17 or May 24, 2027, with the program concluding in August.
