About the role#
We are seeking a Compliance Specialist Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site role based at our facility in La Porte, Texas. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support environmental compliance, learn about our operations, and gain practical experience in the environmental services industry.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by following all safe work practices and policies.
- Assist the Compliance Manager with report preparation and on-site inspections.
- Review facility permits to understand specific conditions and limitations.
- Maintain environmental compliance files and archive old records.
- Stay informed on regulatory changes by reviewing corporate compliance summaries.
- Notify the Compliance Manager immediately regarding any incidents or accidents.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's program for Environmental Science or Management.
- Knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws and regulations.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate PC and Excel skills are required; advanced Excel skills are preferred.
- A results-focused mindset and a desire to learn new skills.

- Modality: This is an on-site position. Remote work is not available.
