About the role#
Loureiro Engineering Associates is looking for an Environmental Compliance Intern to join the Environmental Health and Safety Division in Plainville, CT. This role supports real-world compliance projects for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients. You will work alongside experienced engineers and scientists on projects involving air, water, waste, and sustainability.
What you'll do#
- Support environmental compliance projects covering air, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, and spill prevention.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and regulatory submissions.
- Help develop and maintain environmental and safety plans and documentation.
- Conduct regulatory research and compile findings for the team.
- Participate in environmental audits and assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on client projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current junior, senior, or graduate-level student pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations like EPA, RCRA, CWA, or CAA is a plus.
- Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in environmental compliance or sustainability is a plus.
