About the role#
Loureiro Engineering Associates is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Facility Solutions Division in Plainville, CT. This paid internship offers hands-on experience with mechanical system design. You will work within our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) team to support the development of HVAC, plumbing, and energy systems for commercial, institutional, and public-sector facilities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design and layout of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Support the preparation of construction drawings and specifications.
- Conduct field surveys of existing building systems and document findings.
- Perform basic engineering calculations under supervision.
- Use AutoCAD, Revit, and other design and modeling tools.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on real project deliverables.
- Participate in team meetings and client coordination as needed.
What you'll need#
- Junior, senior, or graduate-level student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Interest in building systems and facility design.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.
- Prior internship or project experience related to MEP systems is a plus.
