About the role#
Wright-Pierce is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2027. This full-time position involves working on a variety of projects related to water and wastewater treatment, civil infrastructure, and industrial facilities. You will work on-site at either our Portland or Topsham, Maine offices.
What you'll do#
- Design low to medium voltage power distribution, process control, lighting, fire alarm, security, and communication systems.
- Perform evaluation, design, and construction engineering tasks.
- Prepare technical documents including reports, specifications, letters, and submittal reviews.
- Coordinate with other design disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Develop construction cost estimates.
- Monitor budget status for assigned projects.
- Conduct site inspections and field visits to review contractor work, resolve issues, and observe equipment testing.
- Mentor and delegate tasks to staff.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with Junior or Senior standing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects at once.
- Proficiency in working with others across different offices using Microsoft Teams and Bluebeam.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to continual learning.
- Ability to build strong relationships with coworkers.
