About the role#
Wright-Pierce is hiring a student intern for our Summer 2027 program. This is a full-time, paid position focused on construction management and technology within the environmental engineering sector.
What you'll do#
- Perform field observation on small-scale water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure projects.
- Assist with field observation on specific elements of large-scale projects under the guidance of senior staff, project managers, or lead engineers.
- Coordinate and communicate with construction contractors, municipal staff, and private property owners.
- Discuss project plans, specifications, and schedules with engineers, utility companies, and government agencies.
- Enforce construction quality standards on site.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and wear required personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or Engineering Technology.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with coworkers and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in construction oversight for water, wastewater, or sewer infrastructure is a plus.
- Familiarity with Fulcrum, BlueBeam, Submittal Exchange, or Procore is a plus.

- This internship is based in Portland, Maine, or Topsham, Maine.
- The position is on-site.
