About the role#
Hazen and Sawyer is hiring an electrical engineering intern for our Buffalo office for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. This role involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on designs, assessments, and field services.
What you'll do#
- Participate in fieldwork, site visits, and client meetings. You should be comfortable walking outdoors and inside industrial facilities.
- Assist in creating engineering deliverables like power system studies, condition assessments, reports, and design documents such as drawings and specifications.
- Work directly with an experienced engineering team to learn and develop.
- Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and utility companies to select equipment and manage services.
- Support projects through the full lifecycle from initial planning through construction.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor or Master degree program in electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within group settings.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated work ethic.
- Experience or interest in the water and wastewater industry and construction is preferred.
- Skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and SKM power systems software are preferred.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Buffalo, New York.
