About the role#
Hazen and Sawyer is seeking interns for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 terms in our Saratoga Springs office. You will work on drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and conveyance projects. This role involves integrating with design teams on tasks ranging from conceptual planning through the construction of pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities. You will work directly with our engineering team and receive professional guidance.
What you'll do#
- Participate in fieldwork, site visits, and client meetings.
- Prepare engineering deliverables like sampling studies, condition assessments, process modeling, hydraulics, and design reports.
- Manage data for process modeling and design.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to select equipment.
- Support projects from the planning phase through construction.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and in group settings.
- Self-motivated work ethic.
- Preferred: Skills in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, or GIS.
- Preferred: Prior experience or a strong interest in the water or wastewater industry.
- Preferred: An advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in a relevant engineering field.
