Wells Engineering interns contribute to real projects alongside drilling and completions engineers. This role offers exposure to Chevron’s safety and technology culture while providing opportunities to build professional relationships and explore career paths within the oil and gas industry. Depending on the assignment, you may spend time in an office environment, at a drilling or well work-over rig, or in a Decision Support Center.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with functional groups on projects that contribute value to operations.
- Participate in optimization studies and project look-back reviews.
- Assist in well design reviews and conduct tool case studies.
- Engage in safety and environmental performance studies.
- Perform contractor analyses.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong academic performance in core coursework.
- Proficiency in communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- Ability to drive on a routine basis if required by the position.

- Locations: Houston, Texas; Bakersfield, California; Greeley, Colorado; Midland, Texas; and Covington, Louisiana.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time paid internship.
- Term: Rolling.
