Information Technology Intern

About the role#

Chevron is seeking interns for the Summer 2027 term to join the Information and Analytics job family within Information Technology. This role focuses on using data, insights, and information to support business processes and strategic objectives. Interns will work in a global environment, supported by mentoring programs and employee networks, to contribute to digital solutions that advance the energy transition.

What you'll do#

• Identify and frame opportunities to apply advanced analytics and modeling to data.
• Access, gather, and analyze data from source systems to support decision-making.
• Develop reusable data products and manage data lifecycles.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to provide data management direction and support for initiatives.
• Ensure the scalability and reliability of models and data pipelines.
• Create and manage data pipelines to enable advanced analytics.
• Visualize data to drive insights and communicate findings to stakeholders.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or Data Science.
• Experience with data acquisition, analysis, modeling, movement, transformation, and preparation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• For Data Analyst roles: Experience with data modeling, data management, data quality, and SQL.
• For Data Engineer roles: Experience with data pipelines, data lakes, storage configuration, Python, and RDBMS/SQL.
• For Machine Learning Engineer roles: A software engineering background with knowledge of mathematics (linear algebra, probability, statistics), algorithms, and machine learning frameworks.
• Submission of a current, unofficial transcript is required to verify academic standing.
