About the role#
As an Equipment Engineering Intern at Magna AIM Systems, you will gain hands-on experience supporting equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides practical learning in industrial maintenance and manufacturing systems while contributing to projects that improve safety, equipment uptime, and plant efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Develop precise facility and equipment floor plans using 2D and 3D modeling software.
- Support the physical assembly, positioning, and mechanical setup of industrial dryer systems.
- Coordinate logistics and mechanical integration for the installation of new industrial manufacturing presses.
- Troubleshoot automated Auto pack systems that utilize robotic arms.
- Supervise electrical wiring, terminal connections, and safety checks for new high-temperature heater bands.
- Assist in organizing the maintenance material system by cataloging spare parts and creating storage layouts.
- Participate in Lean and 5S initiatives to improve organization and safety.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a master’s program for Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Proficiency in BricsCAD or AutoCAD.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in manufacturing systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and general workplace safety.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs and work in an industrial environment.
