About the role#
CBIZ is hiring a Tax Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in San Diego, California. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with tax assignments across various industries including real estate, construction, healthcare, and manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning multiple tax assignments and participate in client projects from start to finish.
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
- Build your tax compliance knowledge by helping with IRS audits, tax notice responses, trust returns, and gift and estate returns.
- Build and maintain working relationships with client staff to provide responsive service.
- Uphold professional standards and client confidentiality in all your work.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internal software.
- Ability to multi-task, solve problems, and think independently.
- Excellent research, analytical, and project management skills.
- A Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred.
- Experience in accounting or active participation in student organizations is a plus.
