About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Tax Internship for Winter 2028 based in Wausau, Wisconsin. You will work on-site to gain hands-on experience in tax preparation and accounting software. You will work alongside professionals at all levels of the firm to support various client engagements, ranging from small businesses to large corporations.
What you'll do#
- Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and projections.
- Research tax issues and related financial reports.
- Gather necessary information from clients and respond to their inquiries.
- Use data analysis skills to identify patterns and suggest process improvements.
- Perform a limited number of tax return interviews as needed.
- Communicate with clients and firm associates in a professional and accurate manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Master’s degree program in Accounting.
- Completion of a corporate or individual taxation course.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Progress toward eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
- Coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data is preferred.
- Strong independent decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
