About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in audit work. You will work alongside professionals from all levels of the firm to develop skills as a business advisor. You will support client engagements as an individual contributor and as part of a team, gaining exposure to a variety of industries ranging from small businesses to large corporations.
What you'll do#
- Perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures according to firm and professional standards.
- Prepare financial statements, footnotes, management reports, and other engagement outputs.
- Use data analysis skills to discover patterns and provide support for recommendations.
- Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
- Develop technical competency with GAAP.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Completion of a corporate or individual taxation class.
- Working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data.
- Ability to think independently, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Location: Rockford, Illinois.
- Term: Winter 2028.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site role. You will work 5 days a week at the Wipfli office or at client sites.
