About the role#
As a Process Modeling Intern, you will join the Engineering and Data Sciences team. This group supports operations ranging from grain and oilseed processing to the development of novel food ingredients. You will work on one or two substantive projects, acting as the primary technical contributor while receiving support from our team. This role provides an opportunity to apply your graduate-level engineering knowledge in an industrial setting.

- Take ownership of core projects from conception through process definition or optimization.
- Gain hands-on experience in a large-scale agribusiness environment.
- Receive periodic and candid feedback on your performance.
- Participate in events designed to build your professional network and provide exposure to company leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Modeling, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Ability to complete a 12-week internship during the summer of 2027.
- First principles-based chemical process modeling experience.
- Proficiency in applied computing, including simulation packages or programming languages like Python, Matlab, Fortran, C/C++, or Visual Basic.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams.
- High degree of initiative and resourcefulness when working with limited guidance.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- Experience or education in the conceptual design or optimization of chemical manufacturing processes.
- Project experience in areas such as process simulation, process control, computational fluid dynamics, kinetic modeling, optimization, or applied statistics.
- A broad understanding of process equipment and physical properties.

- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Candidates must be willing to relocate for the duration of the program.
