About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will serve as a key point of contact for our residents and prospective clients. This role focuses on maintaining high occupancy levels through excellent customer service, effective leasing, and resident retention. You will work on-site in Springfield, Missouri, and be expected to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Deliver high quality customer service to residents and greet prospective clients.
- Manage front desk administrative tasks and maintain accurate lease documentation.
- Use feature and benefit selling techniques to lease apartments and close sales.
- Complete lease applications and assist with lease file audits.
- Help plan and execute community events.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a positive impression.
- Participate in on-call duties such as lock-outs and nightly rounds.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours.
- Completion of at least one year of college education.
- You must be a current or future leaseholder at the community where you work.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
- Majors in Business Administration, Marketing, Real Estate, or Communications are preferred.

- This is a paid, non-exempt, part-time internship position.
- The role requires physical mobility to access all areas of the property, including interior and exterior spaces.
