About the role#
The California Department of Motor Vehicles is hiring a student assistant for the Digital Transformation Office. You will work on business process analysis, AI model evaluation, and reporting. This is a part-time, temporary position that requires you to be a college student enrolled in specific units at an accredited institution.
What you'll do#
- Analyze business processes to find automation opportunities.
- Prepare datasets, validate data, and support AI model evaluation.
- Build dashboards, visual reports, and track project metrics.
- Write user guides, training materials, and knowledge-based content.
- Research AI trends and help prepare executive presentations.
- Support deployment readiness and post-implementation reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of web development concepts like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of data analysis principles.
- Ability to learn new software tools quickly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or on a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
Location & details#
- This position is hybrid, with in-office work at DMV Headquarters in Sacramento, California.
- You must reside and perform all work in California.
- Compensation ranges from $16.90 to $22.70 per hour.
- You may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM.
