About the role#
This position supports the digital communications efforts of the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation. You will help inform Californians about consumer protections, financial education, and department programs. This is a part-time, paid role that offers experience in government communications and social media strategy.
What you'll do#
- Research, draft, edit, and format social media content.
- Assist with developing and coordinating graphics, short-form videos, and visual assets.
- Identify relevant social media trends and emerging communications opportunities.
- Review draft communications for grammar, accuracy, and accessibility.
What you'll need#
- Must be a college student attending classes at an accredited college or university.
- Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop engaging written content.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment and reside within commuting distance of a designated office.
