About the role#
This internship with the MYPAC program provides hands-on experience in the delivery of mental health services. Interns work alongside professionals to support children and families, gaining exposure to clinical interventions and organizational processes within a behavioral health setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the delivery of mental health services, including individual, family, and group therapy.
- Gain experience with clinical interventions tailored to specific client needs.
- Participate in the development of assessments and treatment plans.
- Complete case documentation as part of clinical practice.
- Attend a mandatory 40-hour orientation and training session at the start of the term.
- Collaborate with a diverse team to support client goals.
- Fulfill academic requirements as outlined by your university and site supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master's degree program for Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Marriage and Family Counseling, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- Minimum age of 18 with a valid driver's license.
- Ability to commit to at least 100 hours during the internship term.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, maturity, and self-motivation.
- Ability to work comfortably with families from diverse backgrounds.
- An established internship contract with your academic institution.
