About the role#
This internship provides graduate students with hands-on experience in the delivery of mental health services. You will work directly with clients to support their specific needs through clinical interventions and case management. This is an unpaid position intended for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the delivery of mental health services, including individual, family, and group therapy, as well as substance abuse treatment.
- Gain experience with clinical assessments, treatment planning, and case documentation.
- Integrate into the clinical team to support children and families.
- Attend a mandatory 40-hour orientation and training session at the start of the internship.
- Complete goals as outlined by your academic institution and site supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate program for Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Maturity, self-motivation, and comfort working with families with diverse needs.
- An established contract between your academic institution and the organization.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 100 hours.
