About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in behavioral health. You will contribute to suicide prevention outreach and mental health education across South Dakota while developing clinical and program management skills.
What you'll do#
- Provide suicide prevention outreach throughout South Dakota.
- Conduct mental health education activities.
- Practice a wide range of clinical skills.
- Engage in program development.
- Gain knowledge of the behavioral health field.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Public Health, Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with people from all economic, racial, age, ethnic, and social groups.
- A strong desire to provide non-judgmental assistance to persons in need.
- Ability to manage complex issues.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with program staff and service providers.
