About the role#
This internship provides support for individualized and group therapeutic recreation services within campus-based programs. This is an unpaid position intended for academic credit. Interns must commit to a minimum of 100 hours unless otherwise specified by their academic contract.
What you'll do#
- Organize and facilitate intramural, recreational, and leisure time activities for youth in collaboration with program staff.
- Attend a mandatory orientation and training session at the start of the internship.
- Complete goals as outlined by your college affiliate and assigned site supervisor.
- Maintain professional standards, including wearing business professional or clinical attire.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited academic institution.
- Ability to integrate into an inclusive team and work with families with diverse needs.
- Maturity, self-motivation, and strong oral and written presentation skills.
- An established contract with your academic institution.
