About the role#
This internship supports individualized and group therapeutic recreation services for campus-based programs. Interns work alongside program staff to organize and facilitate intramural, recreational, and leisure activities for youth. This is an unpaid position intended for academic credit, requiring a minimum 100-hour commitment unless otherwise specified by an academic contract.
What you'll do#
- Support therapeutic recreation services for campus-based programs.
- Organize and facilitate intramural, recreational, and leisure time activities for youth.
- Attend a mandatory orientation and training session at the start of the internship.
- Maintain professional standards in attire and conduct.
- Complete goals as outlined by your college and assigned site supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited academic institution.
- Ability to integrate into a team and work with families with diverse needs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, maturity, and self-motivation.
- An established contract with your academic institution.
