About the role#
This internship supports therapeutic recreation, event planning, and volunteer services for our campus-based programs. You will work with program staff to create and run activities for youth. This role requires a 100-hour minimum commitment and attendance at a mandatory 40-hour orientation and training session.
What you'll do#
- Plan, organize, and facilitate intramural, recreational, and leisure activities for youth.
- Support individualized and group therapeutic recreation.
- Coordinate event and volunteer services.
- Integrate into our team and work toward goals set by your university and site supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Education, Recreation, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Marriage and Family Counseling, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- Maturity and self-motivation.
- Strong oral and written presentation skills.
- Comfort working with families with diverse needs.
- An established contract with your academic institution.

- This is an unpaid internship for academic credit only.
- Interns must wear business casual or clinical attire.
