About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in mental health services through the MYPAC program. Interns work directly with families to support clinical interventions and gain exposure to the daily operations of a behavioral health provider. This is an unpaid position intended for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the delivery of mental health services, including individual, family, and group therapy, as well as substance abuse treatment.
- Gain experience with clinical interventions, assessments, treatment plans, and case documentation.
- Complete a 40-hour orientation and training session at the start of the program.
- Adhere to professional standards, including maintaining a business professional or clinical dress code.
- Meet goals as outlined by your university and assigned site supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master's degree program for Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Marriage and Family Counseling, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- Minimum age of 18 with a valid driver's license.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of maturity and self-motivation.
- Ability to work effectively with families from diverse backgrounds.

- Location: Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Minimum 100 hours, unless otherwise specified by your academic contract.
