About the role#
This position is based at the Albian operations lab in Fort McMurray. You will work with the Geotechnical Operations Support team to conduct physical soil testing. This work supports construction quality control for mine earth structures. You will gain experience in how soil properties affect operations and stakeholders across the site.
What you'll do#
- Manage samples and perform lab testing to support construction quality control of mine earth structures.
- Conduct onsite lab tests including standard Proctor, sieve analysis, and moisture content.
- Follow the Lab Control Manual and ASTM standards for all testing procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or recent graduation from an Engineering Technologist, Engineering, or Geology program, including Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or Physics.
- Ability to carry 20 kg for 100m over rough terrain continuously.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
