About the role#
The Aramco Detroit Research and Development Center offers a Summer 2027 internship program for students across engineering, computer science, data science, material science, and applied economics. Interns work alongside scientists to research fuel efficiency, transportation technologies, and future mobility. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Utilize AI and computational modeling to research technologies that improve internal combustion engine efficiency.
- Develop AI-powered automation for CFD and HPC workflows, including model generation and system optimization.
- Perform technical analyses to support the Technology Outlook and long-term business strategy.
- Collect, clean, and organize datasets related to supply chains, costs, and emissions.
- Conduct life-cycle, techno-economic, and market analyses to identify business opportunities.
- Develop data visualizations and dashboards for platforms like Archie-Materials and Archie-Energies.
- Support experimental research on propulsion technologies and carbon capture, including laboratory analysis and process simulation.
- Perform 0-D/1-D powertrain simulations and system-level assessments.
- Conduct experimental testing and system-level controls integration.
- Create and modify Simulink models for embedded controller code generation.
- Define and create electrical schematics in Visio.
- Perform 3D scanning and modeling for integration projects.
- Debug software, code, and electronic components.
