About the role#
As an IS Network Student, you will join the IS Operations team at Canadian Natural Resources Limited. You will support the business and various IS departments with their networking needs. This is a 12-month, full-time position starting in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Deploy and set up physical network infrastructure.
- Document physical IS assets and network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve communication and application issues.
- Assist with the intake of new hardware and the disposal of old equipment.
- Work with the IS Operations group on project and sustainment tasks.
- Contribute to automation initiatives and evaluate AI tools to streamline network administration.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of a degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to produce readable, accurate, and current documentation and reports.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Previous IT work experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cisco network infrastructure, oil and gas applications, or ITIL is considered an asset.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without restrictions.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta (Head Office).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Compensation: Paid position with competitive salary.
- Benefits: Paid time off during Christmas week and summer Fridays in July and August, plus volunteer opportunities and potential relocation assistance.
