About the role#
This position supports exploration and development projects at Canadian Natural Resources Limited. You will work with area geophysicists to delineate reserves, identify geohazards, and analyze subsurface anomalies. This is a full-time, paid student opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Assist with ongoing exploration and development projects.
- Perform quality control and interpretation of well logs and seismic datasets.
- Integrate well and seismic data to build a better understanding of the subsurface.
- Interpret geological features and generate structural maps.
- Apply data analysis techniques to identify potential reservoirs.
- Collaborate with geophysicists, geologists, and engineers on risk assessment and development planning.
- Prepare and present technical findings using clear visuals and effective communication.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Geophysics. Recent graduates are also eligible.
- Ability to work as an independent self-starter and within team settings.
- Commitment to working effectively in collaborative, interdisciplinary groups.
- Physical and mental fitness for the work environment.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without restrictions.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta (Head Office).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Terms: 4-month or 8-month placements starting in January 2027 or May 2027.
