About the role#
Chevron is hiring entry-level Earth Scientists for the 2026-2027 recruiting season. You will join multi-disciplinary teams that include geologists, geophysicists, engineers, data scientists, and software developers. This role is part of a competency-based development program designed to build your technical skills through multiple assignments over the first five years of your career. You will receive guidance from a supervisor and a technical mentor as you work on projects focused on exploration, reservoir characterization, and well operations.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in geoscience, geophysics, and petrophysics.
- Contribute to Chevron projects based on your degree and academic preparation.
- Solve complex problems using digital technologies and techniques.
- Work in various assignments across different locations.
- Participate in technical training and on-the-job experiences.
What you'll need#
- Completion of the final year of a Master’s or Doctorate thesis program.
- Strong academic performance in core programs.
- A professional or academic focus in a technical area that aligns with Chevron business needs.
- Previous experience in an integrated oil or international service company intern program.
- Ability to drive on a routine basis if required by the position.
- Majors considered include Physics, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Environmental Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Civil Engineering.
Location & details#
- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Salary: $108,000 to $140,000 annually, determined by degree level and discipline.
- This is a full-time position. Chevron does not provide visa sponsorship for this role unless the candidate possesses or is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program.
