About the role#
This internship program runs for 12 weeks during the summer of 2026. You will work on real projects within our core business operations while receiving technical guidance from a dedicated manager and mentor. The program includes training sessions, field trips, and opportunities to connect with company leadership.
What you'll do#
- Learn to use seismic interpretation software for 2D and 3D data.
- Incorporate well data into your technical analysis.
- Create depth maps, amplitude extractions, isopach maps, and fault attributes to find new drilling opportunities.
- Apply quantitative interpretation techniques where appropriate.
- Prepare and present a final recommendation based on your technical work.
- Gain a broad understanding of the oil and gas industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program in Geophysics or Geology with a geophysical focus.
- An expected graduation date between August 2027 and May 2029.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.85 on a 4.0 scale.
- A goal to pursue a career as a geophysicist in the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to work across different functions and manage your own project timeline.
Location & details#
- Locations: Houston, Texas; The Woodlands, Texas; Denver, Colorado.
- This is a full-time, on-site internship.
- The position is paid and includes relocation assistance or corporate housing if applicable.
- Employees follow a 9/80 work schedule, which includes a 3-day weekend every other week.
