About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the core businesses of Oxy. You will participate in real-life projects designed to add value to our operations. Throughout the 12-week program, you will work with a manager and mentor who provide technical guidance. Interns also attend training courses, field trips, and social activities while interacting with company leadership.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to projects through hands-on participation.
- Work cross-functionally with multiple disciplines.
- Organize, evaluate, and prioritize your daily workload.
- Make decisions even when you have limited information.
- Collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment.
- Prepare and maintain project timelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a graduate student in Geology or Geophysics.
- A graduation date of 2027 or later.
- A minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
- A self-starter mindset with a positive attitude.
Location & details#
- Locations: Houston, Texas; The Woodlands, Texas; or Denver, Colorado.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 9/80 work schedule with a 3-day weekend every other week.
- Compensation: Paid position with 401(K) and retirement matching, plus relocation assistance or corporate housing if applicable.
