About the role#
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is hiring part-time undergraduate and graduate student assistants to support an AFRL UAV-UGV autonomy grant. You will work under the supervision of Dr. Subodh Bhandari on research projects related to autonomous systems.
What you'll do#
- Research advancements in UAV and UGV autonomy.
- Study collaboration between UAVs and UGVs.
- Develop algorithms and assist with path planning.
- Handle sensor integration, instrumentation, and onboard processing.
- Conduct simulations and flight testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Cal Poly as a BS or MS student in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- A responsible and dependable work ethic.
- Ability to collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Initiative and an innovative approach to problem solving.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with instructional design using Canvas and Kaltura.
- Preferred experience includes using ConcepTests for Calculus in face-to-face teaching and knowledge of web accessibility tools.
