About the role#
This Manufacturing Engineering Intern position provides an opportunity to support the design and analysis of fixturing and assembly tooling for flight systems. You will work on-site in Danbury, CT, during the summer of 2027. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners including Quality, Specialty Engineering, Test, Inspection, and technicians while receiving mentorship from senior engineering staff.
What you'll do#
- Design fixturing and tooling to support the assembly of flight systems.
- Perform hands-on analysis and evaluation of proposed designs.
- Engage in active projects to learn from senior engineers.
- Participate in floor activities, including assembly and testing within cleanroom environments.
- Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team to support program execution.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with sophomore-level coursework completed.
- General knowledge of machine shop practices and fabrication methods.
- Familiarity with design and drafting through coursework or experience.
- Comfort using hand tools.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Previous internship, co-op, or work experience is preferred.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Experience with Formula SAE is a plus.
