About the role#
The ISR Systems and Architectures group develops concepts to address gaps in U.S. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance capabilities. You will work on projects involving sensor, communication, and navigation systems or aircraft studies. You will collaborate with a mentor from the group technical staff to apply your academic background to national security challenges.
What you'll do#
- Perform modeling and analysis of ISR tactical systems.
- Develop mathematical models of system performance using physical principles and engineering.
- Implement these models using the MATLAB programming language.
- Build upon existing physics-based simulations, data analysis, or algorithm assessments.
- Create and demonstrate new modeling capabilities.
- Perform analysis to answer a mission-relevant question.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as an undergraduate (sophomore or higher) or a graduate student (master's or PhD candidate).
- A major in physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aeronautics/astronautics, computer science, or software engineering.
- Experience with MATLAB or a similar programming language.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.

- This internship is located on-site in Lexington, Massachusetts.
- The term is for Summer 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
