    About the role#

    The Mechanical Engineering Group creates solutions for laser communication, radars, hypersonics, and telescopes. We manage projects from the initial concept through to final system integration. As an intern, you will work with our technical staff on research and program execution for ground, air, and space-borne platforms.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop concepts using CAD software, generate drawings, and oversee part fabrication.
    • Build and run finite element models for structural analysis, analyze the results, and maintain databases.
    • Conduct structural or thermal testing, including test design, execution, and data analysis.
    • Perform hands-on work such as 3D printing, prototyping, assembly, and system integration.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics/Astronautics, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Physics.
    • Completion of a Mechanics of Materials course or an equivalent class.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
    • U.S. citizenship is required.

    • This role is located in Lexington, Massachusetts.
    • The position is on-site and full-time.
    • This is a paid summer 2027 internship.
